Manufacturing, warehouses and dock doors
Pontotoc County is part of North Mississippi's furniture manufacturing belt, and that means a concentration of plants, warehouses and distribution buildings — and a lot of dock doors and high-cycle overhead doors serving them.
Industrial doors fail from cycle count and from impact. Either way, a door out of action usually means a bay out of action. When you call, tell us the door type, the opening size, and whether the bay has to keep operating while the work is done, so the visit can be planned around it. Residential repairs
For homes the work is the familiar list: springs, cables, rollers, hinges, track alignment, damaged sections and opener faults. If a spring has broken, stop using the door and keep people away from it until it has been seen. See garage door repair.
Doors on metal and pole buildings
A lot of working buildings around Pontotoc County are steel-framed or pole construction rather than conventional stud framing, and that changes what fitting a door involves. The header above the opening has to carry the spring assembly, and the jambs have to give the track something solid to fasten to — neither is a given on a building that was put up around an open bay.
Often the answer is straightforward, sometimes it means adding framing first. Either way it has to be looked at rather than assumed. When you call, say what the building is made of and whether there is timber or steel around the opening.
