Broken spring or loose cable?
Stop using the door and keep people, pets and vehicles away from it. Do not loosen spring hardware, cut a cable or try to force the door open. These parts carry tension, and a door with a broken spring can be unexpectedly heavy. Call to arrange a technician visit.
Repair or replace the door?
A repair may make sense when the door is otherwise in good condition and the problem is limited to a replaceable component. Common questions
My garage door will not open. What should I check first?
Look for a gap in the spring above the door, cables hanging loose, or the door sitting crooked. Any of those means a spring or cable has failed and the door should be left alone. If the door looks normal but the opener does nothing, check the power and the safety sensors near the floor.
Is a noisy garage door a problem?
It can be an early warning. Grinding, squealing or banging usually points to worn rollers, dry or worn hinges, loose hardware or a door running out of balance. Dealing with it early is cheaper than waiting for a cable or spring to fail.
Do you repair dented or damaged door sections?
Sometimes a single section can be replaced if the door model and panel are still available and the rest of the door is sound. On older or discontinued doors an exact match may not be possible, in which case we will compare the repair against a replacement.
