Lake-country buildings
Being close to Pickwick Lake and Tishomingo State Park changes the mix of buildings around Iuka. Alongside ordinary house garages there are boat and trailer storage buildings, workshops and second homes — often with openings taller and wider than a standard garage because of what has to fit through them.
Tall openings need the right track configuration and correctly sized springs, and a door that will be used seasonally has different priorities to one opened twice a day. Tell us what goes through the opening and how often when you call.
Humidity, rust and hardware
Buildings near the water get more moisture through them, and moisture finds the steel parts: hinges, rollers, track, the spring itself and the bottom fixture. Rust does not usually announce itself until something seizes or breaks. If a door that sits unused for weeks at a time has started squealing or running rough, that is worth attention before it strands you.
Bottom seals also deserve a look. A perished seal lets water and debris under the door, which is more of a problem in a building that stores equipment than in an empty garage.
Repairs and replacement
We handle springs, cables, rollers, track, damaged sections and opener faults. If a spring has broken, stop using the door and keep people clear. For a replacement, we measure on site. See repair and installation.
Arranging a visit in Iuka
Call (662) 223-0748 or email [email protected]. The details that help most are your town and road, whether the door is stuck open or closed, the approximate opening size if you are asking about a new door, and whether the property is residential or commercial. Photos taken without operating the door are often useful.
Our shop is at 5700 CR 301, Tiplersville, MS 38674, open Monday to Friday 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday 7:30 AM to noon. Call for current scheduling and parts availability; an exact price depends on the diagnosis.
Iuka garage door questions
Do you cover Iuka and Tishomingo County?
Yes. Call with your address and what the door is doing so scheduling can be confirmed.
Can you fit a taller door for a boat or RV?
Often, yes, but it depends on the opening and the headroom above it. Measure the opening width and height and the clear space above, then call with those figures.
My door has not been used in months and now it sticks. Is that serious?
It is worth checking. Doors that sit unused, especially in damp buildings, get seized rollers, rusted hinges and stiff springs. Catching it early is much cheaper than a cable or spring failure.
